What is ptosis?
Ptosis refers to a condition of having weak eyelid muscle strength, causing the eyes to look dull and sleepy. This condition is either innate or acquired. The eyes look sleepy and the forehead muscles are used to open the eyes more widely, causing forehead wrinkles to appear and the eyes are easily fatigued.
It is a surgery that pulls or shortens the levator palpebrae superioris muscle and Muller muscle, which are muscles that help open the eyes, to increase the upper and lower width of the eyes and increase the exposure of the pupil to create well-defined eyes.
It is usually accompanied by incisional double eyelid surgery. After pulling and fixing the eyelid elevating muscles, you can expect to see well-defined eyes. This method is mainly used for mild to moderate ptosis cases.
